Less invasive. More precise. Faster recovery.

About Pinnacle Surgical

Pinnacle Surgical is a South African based medical company, focussing on Robotic Surgery and assisting in identifying and sourcing robotic-assisted surgical needs for Southern African Hospitals.

The first robotic system arrived in SA 2013 and they are currently being used by highly trained urologists in five hospitals across South Africa.

Robotic surgery, or robot-assisted surgery, is designed to extend benefits of minimally invasive surgery to the broadest possible base of patients. These clinical robotic surgical systems include a camera arm and mechanical arms with surgical instruments attached to them and provides surgeons with all of the clinical and technical capabillities of traditional open surgery while enabling them to operate through a few tiny incisions. The surgeon controls the arms while seated at a computer console which is situated several metres from the operating table. The console gives the surgeon a high definition, (magnified times 10), 3-D view of the surgical site.

As with surgical trends in America and Europe, the potential for South Africa is to apply robotic surgery to many other procedures. See future da Vinci® surgery applications here.
